Motivating Ourselves and Others

People move towards pleasure and away from pain.  Moving towards pleasure is certainly a lot more pleasant than living with the fear of what we perceive as pain.  That is to say that the "Carrot" is far more effective than "the stick".

Picture what you want, in positive terms, what you will see, hear and feel when you achieve your goal.  The more vivid you imagineer, the more motivating.  You can help yourself by having pictures that represent your goal, remind you of your goal.

If you want that sailboat, imagineer it, picture it vividly, and then identify ways to transform it from a dream into a very real tangible part of your world.  Subscribe to and read Blue Water Sailing and other sailing magazines. Read up on sailing and navigation.  Start to network with others who sail.  While some may accuse us of day dreaming, maybe we're imagineering, future pacing.  It's certainly better than watching TV and being exposed to the commercials, messages from professional pick pockets who want to persuade you into giving your hard earned money to them, for things that you really don't need, many of which would also be harmful to your well being.

When motivating others, what would happen if you promote Double Wins, where everyone comes out winning, where there are no losers.
