Success Journals
What we focus on massively affects our body and neuro (brain) chemistry, and empowers or suppresses our immune system, all at the same time. IF we focus on negatives, pain or potential pain, then we create pain in our lives. On the other hand, if we focus on pleasure, we create much healthier body and neuro-chemistry.
Do you think it might be possible that identifying our successes and focusing on them may result in a very healthy self esteem?
Do you think that maybe people with really healthy self esteem might be more prone to lift other people UP, Encourage Others, than to put other people down?
Do you think that people with good self esteem feel better about themselves and the world around them, and thus, have more self love, and love to give to others?
Do you think that people with good self esteem, who feel really good abut themselves, are less vulnerable to others who might want to control them, take advantage of them?
IF we create our own Success Journal, whether written out long hand, or probably a lot easier and more efficient, create our own success journal using WordPerfect or some other computer word processing software, and include pictures, images, in our personal success journal, vividly focusing on our successes will help us recreate the body and neuro-chemistry that we had when we first had that success. That may include an incredible Endorphin rush, so you feel high as a kite, on a drug / chemical that is created in the human brain, free, legal, with no harmful side affects, and it is reportedly about 1000 times more powerful than morphine.
Creating a Personal Success Journal in today's word processing is easy, using a numbered list. It's easy to date stamp entries, the approximate date that you had the success. Your success journal is YOUR tool. What others might think of your entries is not important. Your success journal can be one of your most powerful support tools, to help you restore very resourceful body and neuro-chemistry, to instantly crowd out Stinkin Thinkin.
Reportedly our conscious mind can only process 7 ± 2 bits of information at a time. IF we consciously focus on one of our successes, vividly, we can consume all of the conscious level channels, focusing on the success, leaving no conscious channels left for the Stinkin Thinkin.
Using WordPerfect or another computer word processing software, it is easy to add successes in between your already existing entries. When you focus on your successes and create success neuro-chemistry, chances are that you will start to recall other successes that you've had. Include pictures where practical.
IF you have young children, you might expand their baby book into a success journal for them, including when they first rolled over, when they first crawled, when they first sat up, when they first stacked two or three blocks. And keep it up to date, keep adding to it. AND, when they start to get Stinkin Thinkin, guide them back to remembering when they had a success that was significant to them.
"Do you remember when you.....".
"How did you feel when you....."
Encourage them to tell you about that success, getting them to re-visit it, enjoy re-experiencing it, and in the process, re-create the resourceful chemistry that they had when they first had the success.
What would happen if we used this same strategy on ourselves when we're faced with a challenge that requires our creative best?
Pictures are very powerful, particularly for people who are primarily visually oriented. You might choose to have pictures that represent some of your successes, where you will see them often, where they will help you maintain creative success neuro-chemistry.
