Alpha Magic is about the magic that each of us can create when we learn to utilize our whole mind, our Other Than Conscious, as well as our Conscious mind.

Some people surrender control over their lives to others, to what might be called "Pick Pockets", advertisers, businesses that want to get people to buy things they don't need, which may not be good for them.

We are flooded with stimuli in today's world with television, radio, the Internet.   There are many people who very rarely watch broadcast TV, because they choose to insulate themselves from input that isn't really in our best interest.   Who is running your life?  Are you making conscious decisions of what YOU want, or are you allowing yourself to fall prey to "Pick Pockets", people who want to get you to give your money, time and energy to them, to make them rich while making you poor?

When Alpha Magic materializes in the form of our own Discovery 55, when we take delivery of our Discovery 55 sailboat, we expect to enjoy many cruises that will also include some brain storming; and others will include coaching to help people improve the quality of their lives, to transform physical and / or emotional challenges into exciting opportunities.

Since Sailing, by its very nature tends to be a trance environment, by our providing empowering metaphors and metaphives,  we expect people's lives will improve, though they may not be aware that they were going through an intense learning / healing experience while on the cruise.  Most of the learning will take place at the OTC level, utilizing the fact that our OTC is about 3200 times more powerful than our conscious mind.  Alpha brain waves are the sub-conscious level, and playing at that level, because it is so much more resourceful than our conscious, the results are almost Magic, thus, the name: Alpha Magic.

Day sails may include up to ten people, including three crew.  Overnight sails will be limited to seven people.  Some cruises will be one night, others longer.  From May through the middle of October Alpha Magic will likely sail the New England coast, including Long Island Sound.   As the weather turns cooler, she'll likely head down towards the Chesapeake, and then down to the Caribbean for the winter, after the hurricane season ends.

The picture with the rainbow is from Memorial Day weekend, 2005, anchored in Port Jefferson's West Harbor, Long Island.  The rainbow was far more spectacular than the picture shows, with two arcs, one 180°, and the other 90°.  Without first a storm, there can be no rainbow.

Is plotting a course and navigating at sea so different from deciding where we want to go in this life, and enjoying the process of moving in that direction? 

On some of the overnight cruises, we may sail through the night, depending on how the crew feels, current and weather conditions.  For example, when sailing through "The Race" just south of the west end of Fishers Island, at the East end of Long Island Sound, we want to time our passage through there when we won't be fighting tidal current which can be 2.5 knots.  Going from Long Island Sound to Block Island involved going through either The Race, or through Fishers Island Sound, and both are subject to significant tidal current, which shifts with the tide. 

With GPS and radar, sailing at night can be delightful.

We cannot control the wind, but we can adjust our sails.

The Thimble Islands off Branford, Connecticut, is a beautiful place to anchor for the night.
